Auto/Diesel Technology is a two-year associate of applied science degree, designed to train students to become skilled technicians in automotive and heavy-duty diesel maintenance.
The student will learn to use industry standard tools to troubleshoot and diagnose computer and electronic systems, overhaul engines and transmissions, and service brakes, steering, suspensions, electronics and all other systems and sub-systems for cars, as well light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks.
Upon completing the program, students are prepared to be entry level technicians for both automotive and heavy duty vehicles, significantly increasing their opportunities in a competitive job market.
Students will attain at least two ASE certiﬁcations by graduation. In the automotive and heavy-duty industry, ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certiﬁcations are highly recognized and respected as the standard of achievement.
Selected Bible classes offered through Crown College of the Bible provide a biblical foundation that will guide students to lead the life of integrity that is essential to honoring Christ in their work. Coursework in all associate degree programs includes 16 credit hours of the Foundation for Christian Life Certificate program.
Up to 50,000 jobs will be open over the next ten years for auto mechanic and up to 50,000 jobs over the next ten years for bus, truck, and heavy equipment diesel mechanics.
